Tastings in India in February 2022:

During our last trip to India in February 2022, we had the opportunity to taste some Indian wines in Pondicherry.

From the Sula estate: a white wine based on Chenin, quite similar to a Chenin de Loire and a white wine based on Sauvignon, very different from a grave or a white Loire.

From the Fratelli estate: a Cabernet-Sauvignon-based red with notes of liquorice and candied red fruits.

The sale of wine is highly regulated in India, it is almost impossible to find it in most cities, very few restaurants have it on their menu.

The photos of the tastings were taken at the restaurants "Chez Francis" and "le Château" in the old French quarter of Pondicherry (we were at the hotel "le Château).

I took the opportunity to put some pictures of the cities visited: the small fishing village of Mamallapuram, Pondicherry, Tanjore and Trichy.
